MILWAUKEE - One woman was killed, and her sister was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Milwaukee on Saturday night, Sept. 21, 2024.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, at about 11:50 p.m., two people were crossing 76th Street near Good Hope Road.
Both women were struck by a vehicle traveling northbound. Family members say the impact killed 20-year-old Talise Dunmore. Her sister, 23-year-old De-Lisha Dunmore, is now at home with a fractured knee.

Police say the striking vehicle left the scene and was later found. A 34-year-old was taken into custody.

The siblings' mother told FOX6 News the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office said the car was going at least 80 miles per hour, and she said her daughter said the headlights were off.
Tracey Dent is a community activist with Peace For Change Alliance. He said it's important now more than ever for the community to unite.
"They use the streets like it’s a video game," Dent said. "It’s really heartbreaking to hear someone get hit by a car and even lose their life. It’s out of control. It’s like, I thought things had died down with the reconstruction of the streets and stuff like that but [...] those stragglers that just don’t care."

Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
