Milwaukee standoff with police; man suspected of battering victim

Milwaukee heavy police presence; 32nd and Michigan

A domestic violence complaint led to a standoff with Milwaukee police near 32nd and Michigan early Friday, March 8.

Officials said around 4 a.m., police responded to a residence. They say a suspect battered a victim – and that victim left the residence to call police. When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect refused to exit the residence. 

After several hours of negotiations, the suspect, a 34-year-old man, surrendered and was arrested. Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.

The victim, a 26-year-old, sustained non-fatal injuries and was not taken to a hospital for treatment.
