Milwaukee County prosecutors charged three people in connection to a shooting that killed one teen and wounded another on Dec. 12.
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee County prosecutors charged three people in connection to a shooting that killed one teen and wounded another on Dec. 12.
Court records show 17-year-old Maurice Ervin and 18-year-old Francisco Jordan are charged with reckless homicide and recklessly endangering safety; a warrant is out for Ervin's arrest. Alaun Brown, 27, is charged with harboring/aiding a felon.

Shooting scene
Police were called to a shooting near 60th and Carmen around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12. Court filings said a 15-year-old victim, later identified as Emanuel Johnson, was found shot in the street and died at the scene. A 16-year-old girl was shot in the arm and taken to Children's Wisconsin.
Detectives found 14 bullet casings in the street, according to a criminal complaint.
Shooting scene near 60th and Carmen
Surveillance video
Video from a Milwaukee County Transit System bus showed the victims getting on the night of the shooting. Court filings said video captured a white SUV passing the bus near 60th and Silver Spring, just south of the shooting scene. When the bus stopped at 60th and Carmen, the victims got off and the white SUV "appeared to be waiting across the street."
As the bus pulled away, prosecutors said a suspect was seen approaching from the SUV and shooting at the victims – who then ran away. A second suspect was seen outside the white SUV moving toward the victims "with his arms raised, then muzzle flashes can be seen, consistent" with firing shots.
Suspects identified
Detectives gathered additional surveillance video from the area. Prosecutors said it captured "unique features" that helped identify the white SUV – including heavily tinted windows and tinted tail lights. Detectives reviewed tow lot records and found a VIN for a white SUV with the "exact characteristics" of the suspect's vehicle.
Court filings said a search of Wisconsin Department of Transportation records found a white SUV with that VIN; it was listed in Brown's name. Police then went to Brown's listed address, where the complaint states he admitted to driving the SUV at the time of the shooting. He was then arrested.

In custody, prosecutors said Brown told police he picked up two people he knew that night: Ervin and Jordan. They were driving around when Ervin said "I see dude" and "Let us out." Brown said he didn't know who they were talking about, but he drove past a bus and parked. Ervin and Jordan then got out of the SUV.
Brown said he "didn't know what they were going to do" but heard multiple gunshots seconds after Ervin and Jordan got out, per the complaint. The two then got back into the SUV, and he saw they had guns.
Police later arrested Jordan. Prosecutors said he admitted to police that both he and Ervin fired shots, and that they were driving with Brown.
In court
Court records show a warrant is out for Ervin's arrest. He is charged as an adult in the case with one count of first-degree reckless homicide and one count of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
Jordan is charged with the same two felonies – first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree reckless injury – according to court records. He was scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Dec. 20.
Brown is charged with two felony counts of harboring/aiding a felon. Court records show his bond was set at $2,500 on Dec. 20, and he is due back in court later this month.
