Milwaukee's MacCanon Brown sanctuary distributes toys to families
MILWAUKEE - MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary on Milwaukee's north side held its annual "Love At Christmas" toy distribution on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Organizers told FOX6 News the toy drive, now in its sixth year, collected more than 500 toys.

"Our goal is to see a smile on the faces of the children and the teenagers, on all of their faces. That would be so rare in this troubled neighborhood," said MacCanon Brown, the organization's president and CEO. "It would be just fabulous to witness that, and then to have the ripple effect of that."
"We know the need in the community, and every child deserves to have something under the tree. This is an opportunity for those hardest-hit families to have that," said State Sen. LaTonya Johnson (D-Milwaukee), who attended the event.
Located in the city's Amani neighborhood, MaCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary also offers programs and initiatives throughout the year to help residents.
