Milwaukee man arrested for allegedly driving drunk, onto bed of truck
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 27-year-old Floyd Matlock of Milwaukee early on Thursday, August 15th for allegedly driving drunk. But that's not all.
Matlock apparently crashed into an active construction zone on southbound I-43 at Lapham Blvd. around 1:30 a.m. Officials say he ended up driving up onto the cargo bed of a truck -- and narrowly missed striking a construction worker.
After crashing, officials say Matlock took off on foot. But deputies found him hiding under a parked car near 15th and Mitchell a short time later.
Matlock registered a .16 BAC or double the legal limit for driving. He was arrested for DUI-3rd. His prior convictions were in February 2011 and January 2012. Matlock also faces charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, and hit-and-run.
If convicted on all charges, Matlock could receive up to 11-and-a-half years in prison.
