Milwaukee man arrested; OWI 5th offense in Waukesha County

A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol in Waukesha County for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, fifth offense. It happened on Monday, Feb. 10 around 3:30 a.m.

What we know:

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding 115 mph in a 70 mph zone. During the traffic stop, the trooper detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the driver. 

Officials say the driver only partially complied with standard field sobriety tests. He was subsequently placed under arrest for the suspicion of operating while intoxicated, 5th offense. 

Officials say the driver made numerous threats towards the trooper. 

What's next:

The driver was transported to Fort Memorial Hospital for a legal blood draw and then transported to the Jefferson County Jail. 

He was also charged with battery/threat to a law enforcement officer, possession of THC, possession of open intoxicants, operating after revocation OWI related, failure to install an ignition interlock device and speeding.

He was also held on a warrant with Lake Mills PD for contempt of court operating after revocation.
