Milwaukee police: Saturday shootings leave 1 dead, 8 wounded

Milwaukee leaders aim for peace this holiday weekend

Milwaukee leaders are working to keep the peace ahead of the unofficial start to summer.

The Milwaukee Police Department responded to six separate shootings Saturday, May 28.

One man was killed, and three others were wounded.

52nd and Lisbon

Around 3:45 a.m., police said two Milwaukee men were shot. A 50-year-old Milwaukee man died of his injuries at the scene. A 43-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

54th and Hampton

A 42-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and taken to the hospital with non-fatal injuries around 9:30 a.m. Police said the shooting was the result of an argument, and they are seeking a known suspect.

33rd and Highland

Around 2:20 p.m., a 32-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and taken to the hospital with non-fatal injuries. What led to the shooting is not yet known.

60th and Fond du Lac

Shortly before 9 p.m., a 33-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and taken to the hospital where he is expected to survive.

42nd and North

Around 9:45 p.m., police responded to a double shooting near 42nd and North. A 23-year-old Milwaukee man and a 33-year-old Milwaukee man were taken to the hospital where they are expected to survive. A 25-year-old Milwaukee woman was battered during this incident. 

25th and Pierce

A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was taken to the hospital after sustaining gunshots near 25th and Pierce around 11:30 p.m. 

MPD investigates
