Flag football game shooting leaves man dead

A shooting at a Milwaukee youth football game left a man dead on Saturday afternoon. It happened at MPS South Stadium near 11th and Windlake.

Separate Milwaukee shootings left two people dead and four others wounded on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Water and Knapp

Shortly after 1 a.m., police said an 18-year-old victim was shot downtown and went to a hospital with non-fatal injuries. A 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody, and charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office. 

11th and Windlake

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office said a man died after a shooting at a flag football game on the city's south side. It happened around 1 p.m. That victim was identified by officials at 47-year-old Raysean Barnes.

A shooting at a Milwaukee youth football game left a man dead on Saturday afternoon. It happened at MPS South Stadium near 11th and Windlake.

39th and Hopkins

Two 27-year-old people were shot at about 2:45 p.m.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. That man has been identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office as 27-year-old Edward Allen. The other victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

30th and Center

At about 9:30 p.m., the victim, a 29-year-old, was in the area when a person tried to rob him.

The victim struggled with the suspect, and the suspect’s firearm discharged, striking the victim’s hand.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries which are not life-threatening, and the incident was reported to police.

48th and Villard

At about 11 p.m., a 26-year-old was shot and went to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Editor's note: A previous version of this story said a suspect was in custody for the shooting near 11th and Windlake. MPD later determined that person was not a suspect in the shooting.
