Milwaukee shootings Thursday; 1 dead in first fatal shooting of 2025, 1 injured

One person is dead and another is injured in different shootings in Milwaukee on Thursday, Jan. 9.

The fatal shooting happened around 5:11 p.m. An 18-year-old victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital where they succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased.

This marked Milwaukee's first fatal shooting of 2025.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.

Unknown location

The shooting happened around 5 p.m.

The victim, a 23-year-old, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. 

The location of the incident and circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Police continue to seek anyone involved.
