Milwaukee fatal shooting; 14th and Burleigh

Separate Milwaukee shootings left two people dead and another wounded on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

What led to each shooting remains under investigation.

14th and Burleigh

Police said a 43-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. It happened around 4 a.m., and police later recovered a vehicle that was associated with the homicide.

The Milwaukee Count Medical Examiner's Office later identified the victim as Jason Taylor of Elkhorn.

12th and Walnut

Around 11:25 a.m., a 44-year-old was shot and wounded. Police said the victim was taken to a hospital with non-fatal injuries.

29th and Congress

A 24-year-old was shot shortly before 5:30 p.m. Police said life-saving measures were attempted, but the victim – later identified by the medical examiner's office as Nicholas Howard of Milwaukee – died at the scene. 

Police arrested a 68-year-old suspect. The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office will review charges.
