MILWAUKEE - The City of Milwaukee is setting up a new way for city residents to register for the coronavirus vaccine, making sign-up as easy as pulling out your phone.
There's a new website and phone number going live Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m., allowing people to register.
The website will allow people in eligible groups to schedule a time to receive the vaccine. People will have to answer a few screening questions to make sure they are in fact eligible.
Health officials said there is an inherent risk to putting a link like this out to the public, so there will be one more step to make sure people are being honest.
"Once you get to the Wisconsin Center for your scheduling, we will then be requiring that you show an ID to prove again you are who you say you are based off of your screening questions and how they were answered," said Marlaina Jackson, Milwaukee's interim health commissioner.
