More than two inches of rain has led to street flooding in Appleton, Green Bay
APPLETON — Heavy rains have caused street flooding in Appleton.
City Engineer Ross Buetow tells Post-Crescent Media (http://post.cr/1BiMfSM ) that drivers should stay off the roads until conditions improve.
Appleton's Department of Public Works and local law enforcement agencies have been overwhelmed with callers reporting flooded streets.
Flooded roads are reported in the City of Appleton, Grand Chute and other cities in Outagamie County. The sheriff's office says one area in the Town of Freedom was reported to have several feet of water.
No damage to houses has been reported to the sheriff's office.
The National Weather Service reports 2.69 inches of rain in Appleton and just over 2 inches northwest of Green Bay as of about 5:15 p.m. Monday.
