MILWAUKEE - Two people were killed and two others hospitalized in connection with a quadruple shooting Wednesday morning, April 7 near 26th and Capitol. Police said a 26-year-old man was arrested; one of the victims in the shooting. Multiple others are sought by MPD.
The mayor said the violence was caught on camera.

Shots rang out just after 12:30 a.m. Two people died at the scene; a 20-year-old woman and 30-year-old man, both from Milwaukee. Both victims' families did not want to talk with FOX6 Wednesday.
"I was briefed earlier this morning on a quadruple shooting that occurred at 26th and Capitol, at the gas station there," said Mayor Tom Barrett.
The mayor described a complicated situation.

"Two groups of people that apparently might have known each other," said Barrett. "It’s uncertain whether they did. I think some of the camera footage shows there was an interaction that occurred inside the gas station and then outside the gas station."
Police said a 26-year-old man from Illinois and a 27-year-old Milwaukee woman survived their injuries. The Illinois man was arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.
"People are using guns to solve problems," said Barrett. "That’s a serious problem."

Mayor Barrett said Wednesday his office was in contact with other multiple departments in response to this shooting.
"We are working with the police department," said Barrett. "We’re working with our violence interrupters because this is a public health issue, as well."
