MPD investigating two homicides in 24 hours
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating two homicides in 24 hours.
Police say the first occurred at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 16th in the 600 block of W. Ring St. 33-year-old Delinkko Kearney was fatally shot.
The second incident occurred at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 17th in the 5200 block of N. 69th St. 18-year-old Javon Whiteside was shot and killed. He was found passed out near Fond du Lac and Capitol Dr.
Police say there are no suspects in custody in connection with these two incidents.
Peace for Change Alliance has planned a vigil for Whiteside Tuesday evening.
There have been 42 homicides in Milwaukee so far this year.
