Muskego High School on lockdown for about 45 minutes

MUSKEGO (WITI) -- A tip that came into the Muskego Police Department caused officials to lockdown Muskego High School on Tuesday afternoon, March 5th.

The tip that came into police from a parent regarding their child. It indicated there was the potential for violence from the student that was not on campus. This potentially violent situation was not directed at Muskego High School or any Muskego High School student, staff member or administrator.

Multiple squads came to the campus to watch the release of students -- and make sure everything was normal.

The high school went into a lockdown for about 45 minutes prior to dismissal. School was then dismissed at 2:25 p.m.

Later Tuesday night, police announced they had located the individual involved in this incident and placed him in protective custody.

The superintendent of Muskego-Norway Schools says school will be in session on Wednesday as planned.

All after-school activities were cancelled. Police say it's unclear if school administration cancelled the activities because of this incident, the weather or a combination of both.
