"My daddy:" 3 years after Eric Benson`s murder, no rest for his family in quest for justice

MILWAUKEE -- There has been no rest for a Milwaukee family -- searching for answers after Eric Benson was killed three years ago.

Each year, on the anniversary of his death and on his birthday, family members flood the neighborhood near 50th and Hope in an effort to find someone with information that could help police in this case.

Benson's family hopes someone will hear their cries for justice -- and finally bring them closure.

"I`m looking for someone to hear my voice today -- the voice of a mother crying out -- who wants peace and justice for her son," Betty Benson, Benson's sister said.

"We just want justice. We`re looking for who killed him. We want someone to come forward with some information," Rolonda Benson said.

On August 2nd, 2013, 25-year-old Eric Benson was gunned down in front of a home near 50th and Hope.

"He was shot six times. One in the head, and the other five were in other parts of his body," Tahnay Johnson, Benson's sister said.

Family members say the case remains unsolved, and Benson's killer is still at large.

"Somebody just needs to come forward," Rolonda Benson said.

Benson's mother and sisters march to not only heal their wounds, but also to support Benson's three-year-old daughter Emonnee.

She was just a baby when her dad died. Her life is now incomplete.

"My daddy. Love him so much," Emonnee said.

Family members say they're not giving up until they have answers.

"I believe that whoever hears this cry, hears this call today, I believe that they will come forth. Somebody knows something," Betty Benson said.

If you have any information about this shooting, you're asked to call Milwaukee police. The family is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
