Nation of Patriots Tour to carry flag across 48 states

OCONOMOWOC -- The Nation of Patriots started their journey in Oconomowoc Saturday, May 26th. The group will travel for 100 days, across 48 states with one American flag, to honor America's Armed Forces and their families.

At each stop along the way, riders will pass along the flag, and donations they've collected to other riders, who will continue the hand off.

The flag is continuously moving, and the money collected will go to help families of wounded veterans who are struggling to pay bills.

"All the military personnel, they do so much to preserve our freedoms and our liberties.  We need to start showing a lot more respect. Even though you see them in the airport and say thank you, we need this on a national level and that's why the Patriot Tour exists," Nation of Patriots Executive Director Bill Sherer said.

The flag will end its journey on Labor Day in Oconomowoc.
