NCAA, St. Pat's Day makes for busy weekend at bars
MILWAUKEE -- Saturday night is always a busy night for bars and restaurants in southeast Wisconsin, but because Saturday, March 17th is St. Patrick's Day and the NCAA Tournament features Wisconsin and Marquette, those establishments will be especially crazy.
"That will be an extremely busy day, as well. We're opening up at 6:00 a.m., for St. Patrick's Day, plus we'll have two, big basketball games. It should be a big one here," Ari Domnitz, owner of Karma Bar & Grill said.
It's a unique opportunity for owners of bars and restaurants to have a big sporting event fall on the same day as a popular holiday. "We wanna make sure that everybody that comes down has a lot of fun, and we, as a business - we get a few holidays a year that are just, kind of our bread-n-butter, and this is one of them, and we like to have fun with it," Andrew Deuster, co-owner of McGillycuddy's said.
