Need a plow? There's an app for that!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- We've seen a brutal winter, with sub-zero temperatures and several snowfalls -- and we're not done yet! If you've had enough of this winter, there's a new app that may be able to brighten your spirits a bit -- and make cleaning up the snow a little easier!

If you want to make shoveling a thing of the past, just grab your smartphone!

"We've made it a process that's normally difficult and frustrating, efficient and easy," Wills Mahoney said.

Mahoney from New York is behind the app called "Plowz." The company promises to send a plow straight to your home with the click of a button!

"All the plow providers, we track their GPS' in real time, so we know where they are. So let's say you order a plow. The request goes out to the driver and the drivers all have an opportunity to accept the job, but only the closest will get that job," Mahoney said.

The free app asks simple questions about your driveway, and sends the information straight to a plow company. After a payment, the plow is on its way.

After your driveway is plowed, the app sends a picture of your clean pavement to your smartphone -- so you have proof the work was completed.

Like most plow services out there, prices vary depending on the size of the driveway.

The app is available in nine cities, including Milwaukee -- and Mahoney says the company has a proven track record. He says all plow companies involved have been pre-screened.

With winter far from over and patience running out, potential customers say it sounds like a good idea.

"It's really convenient as far as I'm concerned. I think it's a great idea," one person said.
