New art exhibit opening at the Milwaukee Art Museum
MILWAUKEE -- A new art exhibit is opening at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
The exhibit, Accidental Genius: Art from the Anthony Petullo Collection, showcases more than 200 eccentric works of art created by self-taught artists from all over the world.
Petullo is a Milwaukee philanthropist, entrepreneur, and author. He is longtime member of the Museum's Board of Directors and the Museum's Exhibitions Committee, and has received multiple awards for his charitable services.
The self-taught artists will include James Lloyd, Minnie Evans, Henry Darger, David Pearce, Rosemarie Koczy, Bill Taylor, and Scottie Wilson.
