New Berlin police: 38-year-old man arrested following shots fired incident at 132nd and W. National Ave.
NEW BERLIN -- New Berlin police early on Sunday morning, September 4th took into custody a 38-year-old man following a shots fired incident.
It happened shortly before 1:00 a.m. near 132nd Street and W. National Avenue.
New Berlin police say the man arrived home intoxicated and got into an argument with his 36-year-old wife. Police say the man armed himself with a shotgun and fired several rounds into the air on his patio.
The man briefly held the woman in the home against her will, police say.
When police arrived at the scene, the man was distracted and the woman fled the home. She was not hurt.
The man also fled the home and the firearm was discarded outside the home.
The man was located and taken into custody by police.
Police say there was no threat to the community during this incident.
