New Berlin police officer honored for service to city
NEW BERLIN (WITI) -- A New Berlin police officer was honored on Thursday, June 6th, for his outstanding customer service as a city employee.
Ryan Puente was announced the recipient of the 16th annual John W. Bauer Award for Municipal Excellence, which was created to carry on the legacy of John W. Bauer, a former city employee of 30 years known for his service to New Berlin.
Along with his duties as police officer, Puente is the coordinator of the New Berlin Honor Guard and known for his work with the New Berlin Food Pantry.
New Berlin's mayor, David Ament, lauded Puente's commitment to the New Berlin Police Department in a released statement.
"Ryan’s attention to detail, his respectful actions and his kindness to others are all a wonderful reflection of the Police Department and the city as a whole," Ament said. "I personally hold dearly, the value of both internal and external customer service. Ryan delivers both in a superior manner, while also reaching beyond his designated duties. He is an exemplary officer and we are proud to have him amongst our ranks.”
