New bike trail opens in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- There's a new bike trail on Milwaukee's south side -- it just opened on Saturday, October 12th.

The Kinnickinnic River Trail runs about two-and-a-quarter miles through the Bay View neighborhood. The project features both on-street and off-street paved trails. It starts near S. 6th St. and Rosedale and runs all the way up by Washington St.

Officials say besides sprucing up the area around the river, the trail is just one phase of a much bigger project. Next year, the trail will be connected with downtown Milwaukee.
