Fans experience new security rules at Lambeau Field

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- Packers fans are used to seeing changes on the field as each season rolls around, but this year they'll be seeing changes outside the stadium as well.

Fans got their first taste of the new security measures at Lambeau Field on August 3rd during the 2013 Packers Family Night.

"I saw there's the little clear bags. They even sell them here, so it doesn't seem too bad," said Michelle Hafelder.

The new rules forbid large bags and backpacks from being taken inside the stadium. Fans must now take their belongings in using a clear bag.

"I don't mind at all bringing a clear, plastic bag for myself. I'm okay with it," said JoAnn Valle.

The new rules, however, aren't that simple for all fans.

"I just put in my camera, my wallet and all that kind of stuff, but I guess not anymore," said Jenna Vollmer. "I'm going to have to walk way over there to put my bag back in my car."

Several fans were turned away at the gates as they weren't aware of the new policy.

"I'm carrying everything in my front pockets now," said Selena Casper.

Tailgating rules have also been modified. Fans must keep their party within six feet of their bumper to allow easier access for emergency vehicles driving through.
