The Social Security Administration has released its annual list of most popular baby names -- and 2014 was a big year for "vintage" names.

Emma topped the list of most popular girl names, followed by Olivia, Sophia, Isabella and Ava.  Noah led the way for boys, followed by Liam, Mason, Jacob and William.

Last year saw the rise of "vintage" names including Ada, Beatrice, Frances, Mabel and several others for girls. For boys, Warren, Otto, Theodore, Winston and other vintage names made a similar comeback.

Charlotte, a name that has been in the news this week, was the only new entrant in the top 10 names for girls.

Noah was also the most popular boy name in 2013 and Emma ranked #1 for girls back in 2008.

Names plucked from television and movies saw increased popularity in 2014 including Frozen's Elsa (#242) and Game of Throne's Khaleesi (#265).

The five boys names that saw the biggest increase in popularity were Bode, Axl, Gannon, Bodie and Royal. For girls, it was Aranza, Montserrat, Monserrat, Maisie and Zendaya.

Making the list of names trending down in popularity were Miley, Karly, Britney, Kaya and Nahla for girls and for boys were Bently, Damion, Amare, Isiah and Xavi.
