OAK CREEK -- The New York shooting rampage outside of the Empire State Building comes less than three weeks after the shooting at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek. This latest shooting opens wounds in the Oak Creek community that have yet to heal.

Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi says, "It's almost like an every week occurrence right now, and you get sick of hearing about it. You wonder when something might change to make that stop."

Mayor Scaffidi says it is difficult finding the answers to stop the violence, but believes the recent open dialogue opened in the community is helping.

Amardeep Kaleka lost his father Satwat Singh Kaleka in the August 5th Sikh temple shooting. He says, "All violence all over this nation kind of impacts everybody. makes you feel a little less safe."
