OAK CREEK -- Wisconsin's first IKEA store is one step closer to reality.
Oak Creek's Plan Commission has endorsed a rezoning for the project, which would allow the retailer's massive parking lot and signs.
The store will be located on the west side of I-94, just off Drexel Avenue.
The Swedish furniture retailer hopes to begin construction in spring of 2017, and the store would open in the summer of 2018.
