Oconomowoc man accused of beating, attempting to strangle woman

Dustin Fekete

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- 19-year-old Dustin Fekete faces felony charges of strangulation and battery in connection with an alleged incident that happened at an Oconomowoc house on Sunday evening, July 10th.

According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched to a home after a caller stated "the victim sent a Facebook message about having a dispute with her boyfriend, Dustin Fekete, also telling them that her face was injured, in bad shape, and she was scared for her life." Dispatch told the officers the victim stopped responding to those Facebook messages just before 9:00 p.m.

Officers went to the residence in question and found no one there. But due to past contacts with Fekete and the girlfriend in this case, they knew there was a possibility they may be at another home. Officers were eventually let into that home.

The complaint indicates officers made contact briefly with Fekete "who stated they had an argument earlier in the night but there was nothing physical." However, the statement from the woman was far different.

The woman "indicated that this wasn't the first physical altercation that (Fekete) has had with her. When asked to clarify, she stated that this was the sixth time in approximately nine months that he had battered her and that each time it had gradually increased in intensity. She stated this time was by far the worst."

The complaint indicates officers observed the following injuries on the woman:

The complaint says, "Throughout the entire course of the beating that he conducted, Fekete stated, 'I wish you were dead.' 'You should kill yourself, it would make everything better.' He also told her 'You completely deserve this.'"

Officers determined that Fekete is right-handed and "did observe that he had bruising to the knuckles of his right hand."

The complaint says "Fekete told officers that he didn't remember what had happened because he took 'two Xanax bars.'"

Fekete is due in court for his preliminary hearing on Thursday, July 21st.
