Officials identify motorcyclist killed in crash in Town of Cedarburg; striking driver cited
OZAUKEE COUNTY -- Officials with the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office have identified the operator of a motorcycle killed in a crash on County Highway I, south of Cedar Sauk Road in the Town of Cedarburg which happened Saturday, September 17th.
The deceased has been identified as Jeffrey Paape.
58-year-old Paape was headed northbound on County Highway I when a minivan, driven by a 76-year-old Town of Cedarburg man exited a driveway in the path of the motorcycle.
A crash then occurred. CPR was initiated by passing motorists, but Paape was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the minivan was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a non-highway access, resulting in death.
County Highway I was closed for approximately three hours between Cedar Sauk Road and Hanneman Road following this crash.
