Officials in Germantown rescue 45-year-old man trapped in attic
GERMANTOWN (WITI) -- Germantown police are investigating an incident in which an intoxicated man prompted a response from law enforcement officials.
It happened on Tuesday, May 21st, around 4:00 p.m.
Police received a 911 call reporting a 45-year-old man was being held at gunpoint inside a home near Esquire Court and Kings Way.
Officials were eventually able to make phone contact with a highly intoxicated man who said he was not being held at gunpoint -- but that he was trapped in the attic.
Officials were forced to enter the home and rescue the man from the attic. He was then taken into protective custody.
The man is being evaluated to determine whether there are any mental health issues. No charges have been issued against him.
The Germantown Police Department was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol and Washington County Sheriff's Department.
