Old World Wisconsin: Father's Day free for dads

EAGLE, Wis. - In Eagle, dads enjoyed free admission to Old World Wisconsin on Father's Day. Some dads made memories to last a lifetime.

"I love this place," said Dan Walters. 

On Father's Day, dads got in free at Old World Wisconsin, making for a fun-filled day for the whole family.

"Just a day outside for us, a great weather day, and we thought they could just enjoy all the events here," said Joe Lagos.

"We see the dads out here all the time," said Emily Duval, guest services manager. "They're pulling their kids through at the very end. When they're tired, they're carrying them, and we wanted to show that we see you. We appreciate you. Bring your family here today, and do it for free." 

The museum has many different exhibits, like teaching guests how to make 1860s-style beer.

"We went here maybe, 10, 15 years ago. Everything that's here was in the field somewhere, "said Walters.

"We want everyone to have access to this history, no matter where they're from or what their background so that they can come here, and they can get involved, bring history alive and maybe find out a little bit about their own past, too," said Duval. 

Dads said the most important part of the day was spending it with their kids.

"Greatest gift ever," said Lagos.

Old World Wisconsin is offering free admission for kids for two weeks in August.
