MADISON (AP) -- Plant lovers and history buffs will get a chance to learn how Wisconsin settlers gardened at Old World Wisconsin later this month.
The historical museum will offer an after-hours stroll through its gardens on Aug. 23. Marcia Carmichael, the museum's historical gardener and author of ``Putting Down Roots: Gardening Insights from Wisconsin's Early Settlers,'' will lead the walk and share information on German immigrants' gardening style, traditions and adaptations.
Participants can register online through noon on Aug. 22. Tickets are $20.
Old World Wisconsin features dozens of historic buildings relocated from around the state. The site is located outside Eagle in southeastern Wisconsin.
