OneJet now offering nonstop service from Mitchell International Airport to Pittsburgh

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Travelers will be able to choose from a number of new airlines and routes being launched this year from General Mitchell International Airport (MKE).  OneJet inaugurated nonstop service from Milwaukee to Pittsburgh Monday morning, May 4th after launching a new nonstop to Indianapolis last month.

At just one hour and fifteen minutes from gate-to-gate, OneJet is the fastest way for business travelers to have a meeting in Pittsburgh and return to MKE the same day.

“I am thrilled that OneJet is already expanding its innovative business model here to include service to Pittsburgh,” Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele said. “We are always looking for more options for those who travel out of Mitchell, and when companies can successfully accomplish that, we're committed to helping them succeed and expand. OneJet’s decision to expand this service in Milwaukee is demonstrative of the high standard that has been set by Milwaukee County and GMIA staff.”

In April, Southwest launched new nonstop flights to San Diego and Dallas Love Field. Delta is adding a new nonstop route to Boston in June, and Alaska Airlines is starting Seattle service in July.  OneJet’s additions of Pittsburgh and Indianapolis give Wisconsin and northern Illinois travelers fast, efficient access to important mid-sized business markets.

Mitchell Airport is a regional low-fare leader.  According to the most recent statistics from the Department of Transportation, average airfares at Mitchell are lower than 71 of the top 100 airports in the nation.  Mitchell’s average fares are $32 less than Chicago O’Hare’s and $20 less than the national average.
