"Operation Dodgeball:" 138 of 149 Dodge County sex offenders found to be in compliance

DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials, along with U.S. Marshals took part in "Operation Dodgeball" between July 7th and July 11th.

During "Operation Dodgeball," members of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service conducted in-person compliance checks of 149 sex offenders within Dodge County.

Sex offenders are required to provide current, up-to-date, personal information to include an accurate address and place of employment.  Failing to comply with the guidelines of the sex offender registry is a criminal offense.

During this initiative, Dodge County Sheriff's officials say officers attempted to contact all 149 registered sex offenders living in Dodge County. Of those individuals, 138 were located and found to be in compliance.

The remaining 11 sex offenders are being investigated for possible failure to register as a sex offender.

“It is the mission of the Dodge County Sheriff's Office to keep our citizens and children safe. Operation Dodgeball is just one way the Sheriff’s Office is working to hold sex offenders accountable with strict compliance enforcement. Deputies will continue to conduct random registered sex offender sweeps throughout the year to ensure they are abiding the agreed terms of their sex registration," Dodge County Sheriff Patricia Ninmann said.

“This effort was only possible through the extraordinary cooperation and close coordination of all the agencies involved.  Through our consolidated efforts we continue to make our communities and children safer," Kevin Carr, United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Wisconsin said.
