Overpass hit on Capitol Drive near Pilgrim Road

BROOKFIELD, Wis. - A vehicle towing construction equipment struck an overpass on Capitol Drive near Pilgrim Road on Thursday, Dec. 30. Eastbound Capitol Drive was temporarily closed while the cleanup from the wreck was ongoing.
Officials say the wood chipper truck struck the Pilgrim Road bridge shortly before 10:30 a.m., sheering off the bucket extension, and disconnecting it from the tow truck.
The truck came to rest in the culvert without striking any other vehicles or structures.

Nobody was hurt.
County highway officials inspected the bridge and a Wisconsin State Patrol truck inspector responded to assist.
State Patrol will be issuing at least one citation for a height requirement violation.
