Packers big financial winners after Badgers beat LSU at Lambeau Field
GREEN BAY -- Saturday, September 3rd was a great day for the Wisconsin Badgers on the field. They beat fifth-ranked LSU at Lambeau Field.
But the Packers are coming out big financial winners as well.
The Lambeau Field College Football Classic was part of the push by the Packers to hold non NFL events at Lambeau to earn additional revenue.
The team paid Wisconsin $3 million and LSU $2.5 million to play the game, and kept all of the revenue from tickets, parking and merchandise sold at the stadium.
The game drew a sellout crowd, with more than 78,000 fans in attendance.
