Pedestrian, 75, killed in Whitefish Bay in 'unintentional act'

A 75-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle and killed on Wednesday evening in Whitefish Bay. Police said a 77-year-old man hit the woman while backing out of his driveway.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed on Wednesday evening, Dec. 28 in Whitefish Bay.

It happened near Santa Monica and Silver Spring.

Whitefish Bay police said the woman, 75, was found pinned under the vehicle. She was pulled out, and life-saving measures were attempted, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the striking driver, a Whitefish Bay man, 77, hit the woman as he was backing out of his driveway. She was pinned under the vehicle and dragged for several blocks before witnesses alerted the driver to the situation, police said.

Whitefish Bay police said this was an unintentional act, and alcohol and drugs were not factors.
