"Perfect place to be!" No disappointment this year for Air & Water Show after unrelenting fog last year

MILWAUKEE -- The unrelenting fog along Milwaukee's lakefront led organizers to call off the Milwaukee Air & Water Show last year -- but this year, there were no fog issues, and some say this year's Air & Water Show was the best one yet!

This was the seventh consecutive year for the Milwaukee Air & Water Show -- which took place on Saturday, July 25th and Sunday, July 26th along the lakefront.

First-timers and veteran Air & Water Show enthusiasts lined the lakefront for the big show -- and the weather was perfect this year.

"I'm just so excited about it. It`s my first time. I'm really looking forward to it. I got my backpack and I`m ready!" Tina Jones said.

"Every single year we are down here," Tom Kluka said.

For each of the show's two days, the Water Show kicked off at 10:00 a.m., with the Air Show following at noon.

"We've been having a good time!" Antonio Scarbrough said.

For some, the Air & Water Show made a day on the beach just that much more enjoyable.

"It's great! The kids go swimming and we can watch the Water Show. It's not hot here today. It's beautiful. It's gorgeous," Debbie Rehard said.

"I love the Air Show -- the air planes, the loud jets," Scarbrough said.

"Pretty much the jets, F22s, F16s -- those are what we really come for. The sound, the noise, the feeling, the atmosphere, the people," one spectator said.

The U.S. Army Golden Knights, the Breitling Jet Team, Aerostars Formation Aerobatic Team and of course, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds put on an exceptional show.

"It`s like you don`t hear them coming then all of a sudden they are there and it`s just loud and it goes through your body. It's great," Rehard said.

"It`s everything -- the atmosphere, the beach. It's the perfect place to be," a spectator said.
