Pewaukee police: No arrests yet after threat closed all schools in district last Friday

PEWAUKEE -- Pewaukee police tell FOX6 News no arrests have been made after a threat led to the closure of all schools within the Pewaukee School District, and the cancellation and rescheduling of the homecoming football game for Pewaukee High School last Friday, October 2nd.

A handwritten threat was found inside Pewaukee High School last Thursday that said there would be a school shooting on October 2nd.

Classes resumed on Monday, October 5th with one major difference. Students had to go through metal detectors -- an added safety precaution after last week's threat.

Metal detectors were also in use on Saturday, as students attended the rescheduled homecoming football game.

The homecoming dance was held as scheduled on Saturday night.

Police say they continue to assist school staff with security -- including checks those metal detectors that are still being used at the middle and high schools.

The superintendent told FOX6 News everything went smoothly when students returned to class on Monday.
