Police: 19-year-old man shot, seriously injured near 19th & Taylor in Racine
RACINE -- Racine police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday night, May 8th near 19th and Taylor.
According to authorities, police were called out to the scene around 9:40 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds, and in serious condition. The victim was initially taken to Wheaton Franciscan -- but later flown to Froedtert via Flight for Life.
Police say specific details on the incident leading up to the shooting are still under investigation.
The Racine Police Department is actively looking for one suspect -- described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, standing around 6' tall, weighing approximately 160 lbs. At the time of the shooting, the suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black pants. He was also armed with a handgun.
