Police: Burglary suspect arrested following foot pursuit

GLENDALE (WITI) -- Glendale police responded to the AT&T Store on N. Port Washington Rd. Tuesday morning, June 10th around 7:30 a.m. for a burglary in progress. When officials arrived on scene, the suspect had already fled the area.

According to police, a witness stated that the suspect fled the scene southbound in a maroon Chrysler.

Glendale squads, with the help of the Whitefish Bay and Shorewood Police Departments, began to check the area for the vehicle.

Officers believed this suspect was involved in multiple previous burglaries in the North Shore.

According to authorities, a Glendale officer was checking southbound on N. Green Bay Ave., approaching W. Capital Dr., when he observed a maroon Chrysler at a gas station in the 4200 block of N. Green Bay Ave.

He observed the suspect, who matched the description from the previous burglaries, attempt to enter his vehicle and flee. However, the vehicle would not start, so the suspect ran from the officer -- and a foot pursuit ensued.

The suspect was later found hiding in some bushes, and was taken into custody in the 40 l0 block of N. 1 1th St. with the help of the Milwaukee Police Department.

All of the property stolen from the AT&T Store was recovered, and the suspect will be referred to the Milwaukee County DA's Office for multiple charges of burglary and resisting arrest.
