Police continue to investigate double shooting near 38th, Wright

MILWAUKEE --  Milwaukee police say an 18-year-old man is in critical condition and a 19-year-old woman is in stable condition after being shot near the corner of 38th and Wright on Friday night, August 3rd.

Milwaukee police say the shooting happened somewhere outside, just after 9:00 p.m.

A store clerk from a nearby corner store says the male victim ran into his store just as the they were closing up, screaming for help.  He appeared to have a bullet wound to the head.  The clerk says the victim was covered in blood.

One neighbor says this is the third shooting in recent memory.

"You never know where it is coming from. There's always something happening to someone we deal with or we care about. It's best just to stay home," neighbor Takeyira Davis.

Davis says the block has become so violent, she plans to move in the coming days.

"You have to think about the safety of your kids and of yourself and if you're not around to protect them then it's like, who else will?" Davis said.

Investigators continue to interview witnesses to determine a motive.  No arrests have been made at this time.
