Police: Death investigation underway after woman's body found near Washington Park

MILWAUKEE -- A woman was found dead in an alley near 39th Street and Roberts Street, one block east of Washington Park in Milwaukee on Saturday, Dec. 21.

Police said the body was that of a 40-year-old African American woman. She was found Saturday afternoon in an area littered with trash, tires, and scraps of furniture when police were called to perform a welfare check.

The Milwaukee County medical examiner also responded to the scene.
