HORICON -- Horicon police have identified the man who died following an incident involving a kayak in the Horicon Marsh on Tuesday, June 23rd.
He is 62-year-old Philip Clark, from Jackson, Wisconsin.
A cause of death has not yet been determined. It is unclear whether this was an accidental drowning, or there was some sort of medical emergency.
We're told Clark, his wife and their grandson rented two kayaks at the Blue Heron in Horicon for a day of sightseeing on the marsh.
Around noon, as they were returning, Clark's wife noticed he was in the water. She was able to get to him and pull him alongside her kayak that she was sharing with her grandson. They were able to get to the shoreline behind the John Deere plant, and Clark's wife began screaming for help.
Police say employees at the nearby John Deere facility heard those cries for help -- and one employee hopped a fence and started providing CPR to Clark.
Clark was taken to Beaver Dam Community Hospital where he later died.
A cause of death is pending.
