BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma (CNN) -- The threat of school violence was thwarted in Oklahoma after police arrested a student for planning his own school shooting.
Bartlesville police arrested 18-year old Sammie Chavez Friday morning, December 14th before school started.
According to authorities, an assistant principal reported possible threats made by Chavez.
Students told the assistant principal that Chavez tried to recruit them to help in the plot, if they refused he'd kill them and himself.
Not only did the plot involve shooting, but police say Chavez mentioned using bombs as well.
Investigators also report finding damaging evidence on the student's computer, including searches for several types of guns and information on the Columbine shooting.
Police say the case is still under investigation, but Chavez is being held on $1 million bond.
