Police investigating homicide after man shot in the street on W. Burleigh

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday night, August 13th.

Police say a 33-year-old Milwaukee man was shot on the street in the 800 block of W. Burleigh. He has been identified as Eric Luckett.

It happened just after 8:30 p.m.

Police say the man ran into a nearby convenience store, where he collapsed.

Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.

Police say no one is in custody.
