Police: Man shot on I-41 taken to hospital after showing up at Cousins restaurant

GERMANTOWN -- Police are investigating after a shooting victim showed up at a Cousins Subs restaurant Sunday evening, January 15th.

Menomonee Falls police said they were notified shortly before 7:30 p.m. of a shooting involving a 31-year-old Jackson Man. He indicated he was shot on I-41 near Main Street, while driving a vehicle in the area.

Police said the man appeared at the Cousin's restaurant on Pilgrim Road seeking aid after suffering the gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance -- conscious and alert when transported. He was treated and released.

Menomonee Falls police said this was an isolated incident, and there is no risk to the general public.

The investigation was turned over to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, as this happened on the freeway. Menomonee Falls police noted an investigation has revealed the shooting happened at a location further southeast than originally reported.
