Police: Man stabbed multiple times during robbery at Knights Inn Motel in Mount Pleasant
MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police say a man was in serious condition at the hospital after he was stabbed during a robbery Tuesday evening, December 9th. UPDATE: The victim was listed in stable condition as of Thursday, December 11th.
It happened just before 5:30 p.m. at the Knights Inn Motel on Oaks Road in Mount Pleasant.
Police say as officers were responding to a report of a robbery, the robbery victim called 911, indicating he had been stabbed multiple times.
Police arrived at the motel and were able to locate the 43-year-old victim -- a man from Racine, in a room. He indicated he had been stabbed by the reported robber, who was apparently unknown to him.
The victim suffered multiple stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, and was initially listed in serious condition.
The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5'9" tall, approximately 30 years old. He was reportedly wearing dark clothing and a tan leather coat.
He was last seen running from the robbery scene and remains at large.
