Police: Sheboygan man hit two parked cars, a squad car and a chain-link fence!
SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- Sheboygan police have arrested a 20-year-old man after they say he hit two parked cars, a squad car and a fence early Wednesday morning, May 14th.
Police say around 3:30 a.m., they received a report of a hit-and-run collision involving two parked cars in the 1200 block of South 10th Street.
Earlier, an officer had stopped the offending vehicle for a traffic violation.
Police say officers began looking for this vehicle and driver -- and around 3:50 a.m., police received a report of a car stuck on the curb near South 10th Street and Mead Avenue.
Police say the 20-year-old driver was the sole occupant of the car.
Police say the driver backed into a marked police vehicle that had stopped behind him -- causing minor damage to the squad.
The suspect then fled from the officers.
Police pursued the driver -- but the pursuit was terminated a few minutes later.
Officers eventually found the vehicle at Lakeshore and Washington Avenue.
Police say the driver had crashed through a chain-link fence for a water treatment plant.
The driver was arrested for a number of offenses -- including OWI, felony eluding, reckless driving and several counts of hit-and-run.
The driver was not injured -- but he was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation before he was taken to jail.
Police say the driver was on probation at the time of Wednesday's incidents.
No one was injured.
