Precautionary boil order lifted in Port Washington

PORT WASHINGTON -- A precautionary water boil ordered for parts of Port Washington, is no longer in effect. The order was lifted Thursday, November 16th around 7:30 p.m.

Officials say the boil order is due to a water hydrant being damaged by a vehicle in the Industrial Park on Bywater Dr. -- and that part of the city having low water pressure.

The Wisconsin DNR requires the city to collect five to ten water samples following a loss of water pressure in the area. It is recommended that persons in the affected area not drink or use tap water for potable purposes. The water is safe for washing and flushing.
